At Sanyang UK Association, we aim to promote understanding, interaction, social and community cohesion among the people of Sanyang living in the United Kingdom. To contribute funds through monthly contributions and to raise funds and establish an economically viable Association for the primary benefit of members living in the United Kingdom.

OUR AIMS AND OBJECTIVES
To promote understanding, interaction, social and community cohesion among the people of SANYANG living in the United Kingdom. To contribute funds through monthly contributions and to raise funds and establish an economically viable Association for the primary benefit of members living in the United Kingdom. To contribute to the NON POLITICAL socio economic development of SANYANG as the first choice for any help outside the United Kingdom, then the Gambia at large where feasible.
Our Latest activities & Projects
Fandema Football Field Fencing Project
The Sanyang UK Association has contributed £500 towards the fencing of the Fandema Football Field, a key community iniative in Sanyang. This project was approved at the October 2022 General Meeting, with funds disbursed once it was confirmed that the fencing works had commenced.
The field plays a vital role in fostering sports and community engagement, and fencing it will enhance its functionality and safety.
Sanyang Health Centre Support Project
Supporting our only Health Centre was agreed at all last 3 SUKA General Meetings.
We contacted the Health Centre after our October 2018 and April 2019 General Meetings to provide us with a list of items/materials or areas the Health Centre needed support. We never received this list despite several follow ups by the association.
Ramadan Sugar Campaign
We collectively raised s massive £560 for this year’s Ramadan Sugar donations.
The total sum equivalent to D35,380 Gambian Dalasis (£1=D63) was sent to our Volunteers on the ground, received by Buba Bojang.
BungKiling Central Mosque Area Electrification Extension Project
This project was costed and invoiced for D130, 000. Gambian Dalasis for 4 Electric poles. The Bunkiling residents jointly raised D55,000 through personal household contributions.

Sanyang School Kitchen Project
This project was not quantified or property costed. The school committee estimated it at D150,000 Gambian Dalasis.
At the SUKA General Meeting in October we agreed that the estimate was too much for a school Kitchen and we agreed to donate D50,000 Gambian Dalasis.
“ SUKA also strives to promote integration of Gambians and non Gambians alike in the UK to become more inclusive and contribute for a fairer and safer society”.
